Project 55
The project was started with a one-off portrait of a violin player, the initial idea being to show one particular/original close-up detail of the artist and his relation to his instrument, also his mood that was associated with it. Although as the first Polaroid came out I realised I was looking for something more than just a straightforward portrait. The idea of juxtaposing two almost identical portraits of one and the same individual including the same background, yet critically opposing almost controversial outcomes. As far as later works were concerned ,the idea of two contrasting portraits had been developed and "polished" further. And the concept of coming up with a continuous line of so-called dual portraits was finally defined, i.e. to show changing of one's personality, natural reaction to one's profession/occupation/vacation, etc.

So far, the people in the Polaroid's have all been my friends or acquaintances. Though given the name of the Polaroid used (55), I have decided to call this whole project "Project 55". And am now looking forward to meeting and, hopefully, working with as many different people in diverse professions as possible.
